Bohemian Rhapsody 2.0 Is A Possibility So Warm Up Your Vocal Chords

Mamma mia! (*high pitched echo* mama mia!)

Queen is one of the most iconic bands in music history. So it makes sense that a movie about Queen’s rise to fame would be equally as iconic.

Bohemian Rhapsody, starring Rami Malek as the legendary Freddie Mercury, took the world by storm from the moment it was released.

The film tracks Queen’s journey and ties it together in a nice, neat package featuring their greatest hits and some killer ‘80s flare pants. But there’s a lot about the band that didn’t make it to the big screen.

A sequel could give us a glimpse into Freddie’s struggles, his final years and how the band continued after his passing (see: Adam Lambert).

We’d definitely be keen to see it. And apparently, it’s a very real possibility.

Rudi Dolezal, a filmmaker who directed videos for Queen, told Page Six that a sequel film is “being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”

Rudi said he reckons the band’s manager Jim Beach, who produced the 2018 movie, is keen to make “a sequel that starts with Live Aid.”

He’s referring to this iconic performance:

Bohemian Rhapsody ended with the Live Aid performance so it makes sense that the sequel would kick off from the same place.

Rudi isn’t the first to hint at Bohemian Rhapsody the movie 2.0; Queen guitarist Brian May has also hinted about a sequel.

According to Page Six, Brian said “I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel.”

It’s not quite the confirmation we’re looking for, but it’s close enough.

Queen’s on board. Now, all we need is the production company, the actors and another $50 million to fund the film and we’re good to go.
