Insta Couple Slammed After Asking Followers To Fund Their Trip

2 min read

“You guys win title of entitled parasites of 2019.”

Instagram couple @another_beautiful_day_official wants you to pay for their trip to Africa.

Our thoughts exactly.

Catalin Onc and Elena Engelhardt launched run the Instagram together which follow their travels around the world.

The description on their Go Fund Me page says want to show us the "beauty of this planet and it’s [sic] inhabitants, but also the ugliness."

"Starting on the 20th of July in the middle of Germany, on a tandem, me and Eli will cycle towards Africa, and hopefully beyond.

"We want to take you all on this huge adventure."

The couple are asking for €10,000 (over $AU16,000) so we can't imagine they are literally taking their followers on the adventure.

According to their Go Fund Me page, the money will go towards tandem bike and gear, food and accommodation (when needed), internet and SIM cards in every country, insurance and emergencies.

Why don't they just get a job or promote tea like the rest of Instagram?

According to one of their insta posts, getting a job would be "detrimental”.

“It has now come to the point again where we must ask for money in order to continue doing what we do,” Catalin’s post begins.

“Some will just tell us to get jobs, like everyone else and stop begging. But when you have the impact we do on others’ life, getting a job is not an option.

“We could model and make fast money, but we don’t want to advertise consumerism. A normal job at this point would be detrimental.”

Followers were quick to slam the couple on Instagram:

@kyle_thomas3 says:

"Your mom works two jobs to pay for your trip, don’t you think that’s impacting her mental heath? It’s sad this isn’t all a joke, the self importance you have is ridiculous."

While @byronwilkinson_ simply says:

"Go get a job."

So far the couple have raised €80.
