Fans were furious last night when Channel Seven cut short Jobe Watson and James Kelly’s farewell.

Channel Seven is in damage control after a critical error post-match last night.

The network had just finished broadcasting Sydney’s win over Essendon, which would ultimately end up being Jobe Watson and James Kelly’s last game. Ever… As the retiring stars walked off the ground to applause at the SCG, Channel Seven cut it short and went over to the news.

Social media erupted with angry Bombers fans who felt they’d been robbed of the moment their hero walked off the ground for the last time.

Seven also interviewed Sydney’s Buddy Franklin and Josh Kennedy post match, rather than the 220-game departing Bomber.

Fox Footy shortly broadcast the full farewell and tweeted the footage Seven didn’t end up showing.

Seven has apologised for the fluff.
