Coldplay returned to Nova's Red Room and we now have a head full of dreams
The world’s biggest band closes Nova's Red Room for 2016
It was an adventure of a lifetime – the biggest band in the world, Coldplay, hit pause on their stadium world tour A Head Full of Dreams to return for the final Nova’s Red Room of the year.
Here's how it went down:
The boys hit the stage. We screamed (and maybe cried). Then, they gave us every hit we wanted to hear, including ‘Yellow’, ‘Everglow’, ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’, and ‘Viva La Vida’. As listeners would’ve heard live, one superfan, Sarah, was dubbed Audience Member of the Year by Chris Martin after letting out a very loud, very excited scream – a great way to get noticed, why didn’t we think of that?
This was the second time Coldplay have graced Nova’s Red Room. Earlier this year, a group of seriously lucky fans were pinching themselves as they flew to the UK to be part of Nova’s Red Room Global Tour.
Check it out below:
This time the band came to us. Cue screaming!
With only limited numbers to the intimate gig being given away on-air, the crowd was full of only the most dedicated Coldplay fans. We spotted The Bachelorette's Matty J and Today host Sylvia Jeffreys among the punters!
Chris Martin was in top form, entertaining us all with hilarious jokes between songs. This gem was a stand out:
"The reason why no one is coming to see us anymore is because we're not very good […] Just kidding, we’re the biggest band in the world.”
We totally agree. Coldplay, we love you.
Thanks for coming back to Nova’s Red Room. Who’s up for more in 2016?
