Taylor Swift Just Ended Her Long-Running Feud With This Pop Star
First Katy Perry, now this…
Taylor Swift may have been known to have a few enemies in the past, but that’s all behind her now that the Lover era is in full swing.
Lovato has praised Swift’s new album Lover, sharing a screenshot on her Instagram story listening to a new track Cruel Summer and (rightfully) labelling it “a jam” with a praising hands emoji.
In a second post, Lovato expressed her admiration for Swift and her latest body of work, seemingly putting all their past drama behind them.
“Life’s too short for women to not support other women,” she wrote on Instagram.
Swift later replied to the post on her own Instagram story and was thrilled with the kind message.
“This is so awesome & put the biggest smile on my face,” she wrote alongside a gif of two hugging cats with hearts, “thank you @ddlovato”.
This public display of support comes after Lovato tweeted during the 2019 MTV VMAs that she skipped the event “for a reason”, and fans immediately thought she was referring to the You Need To Calm Down singer.
Recently the two pop singers haven’t seen eye to eye, with Lovato publicly siding with her new manager Scooter Braun after he purchased the rights to Swift’s masters.
“I have dealt with bad people in the industry and Scooter is not one of them. He’s a good man,” Lovato wrote on Instagram. “Personally, I’m grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop ‘dragging’ people or bullying them. There’s enough hate in this world as it is.”
While the pair were close friends in 2008, Lovato has since subtly attacked Swift a number of times in the media because of her squad, feminist beliefs and friendship with her own former bestie Selena Gomez.
Tay Tay may be on a roll mending broken friendships now, but don’t hold your breath for a reunion with Kanye West anytime soon…
